TMC makes charity fashionable

The final night of London Fashion Week was the perfect time to throw a glittering party at the exclusive Club at The Ivy – and raise more than £5,200 for the Ethiopian Education Foundation (EEF)

DESTINATION FASHION was hosted by Chambers Travel Management and sponsored by travel brands including Buying Business Travel publisher Panacea.

Chambers teamed up with sponsors American Airlines, British Airways, Iberia, Qantas, Sabre, Accor and Avis to offer desirable raffle prizes, including weekends in New York and Florence, theatre tickets and Nicole Farhi designer jewellery.

A band playing tribute to hit TV show Glee provided the music, while guests enjoyed champagne and canapés, and watched footage of Chambers staff staging a catwalk fashion show at the travel management company’s offices earlier in the day.

Chambers CEO Chris Thelen said afterwards: “I’m really proud of the team for pulling together to create this event in order to raise money for EEF. We had a great night and send our thanks to the sponsors and to all those who attended and participated in the fundraising events.”

EEF provides scholarship programmes to educate underprivileged, academically promising students in Ethiopia. The charity’s vice-chairman, Achim Kram, said: “On behalf of our scholarship students, EEF would like to thank Chambers, our sponsors and guests for the wonderful event – it was great fun and a fantastic venue. To see the efforts of all involved to raise funds for EEF was really touching.”
