Easyjet is to launch a new winter service from Edinburgh to the Bulgarian capital Sofia.
The route will operate from December 16 until March 24, 2018 with flights running twice per week on Tuesday and Saturday.
Easyjet already flies to Sofia from Gatwick, Stansted and Manchester.
The airline also announced that its passenger traffic in July rose by 8.9 per cent to 8.2 million people compared with the same month in 2016. This came despite a 55% increase in cancelled flights from 350 in July 2016 to 541 last month.
The low-cost airline has carried a total of 78.8 million passengers over the last 12 months – up from 72.3 million a year ago.
