Easyjet chief executive Carolyn McCall has been tipped to be the new head at ITV.
The airline boss is understood to have been interviewed for the role to succeed Adam Crozier, who left last month after seven years on the role.
According to The Guardian, ITV has been trying to “persuade” McCall to take the role and is believed to be on a shortlist with Paul Geddes, CEO of Direct Line and Rob Woodward, outgoing CEO of STV.
ITV is believed to be able to match McCall’s pay expectations – Crozier earned about £27m during his tenure with the broadcaster. McCall currently earns more than £7 million a year in pay, benefits and bonuses.
