Eurostar has announced the appointment of delivery firm Yodel boss Mike Cooper as its new CEO, starting in March.
Current CEO Nicolas Petrovic will leave the high-speed rail company at the end of February to become the chief executive of Siemens France. Petrovic has been at the helm of Eurostar for seven years and oversaw the introduction of a new fleet of trains and new destinations.
Cooper has been the deputy CEO and MD for mainland Europe at Arriva, as well as chief commercial officer of Easyjet and MD of Portland Travel. He will take up his new role at Eurostar on 12 March.
Clare Hillingsworth, chairman of Eurostar, commented: “We are delight that Mike will be joining Eurostar as CEO, as he brings a wealth of expertise to our business. With his strong track record of leading a major European transport business across multiple countries and his extensive experience of key consumer travel brands, he is perfectly placed to lead the company into its next phase of growth.
