Veteran travel industry writer Jonathan Hart dies

Jonathan Hart

Jonathan Hart, a frequent contributor to BBT, has died aged 70, following an 18-month battle with cancer.

He started his journalistic career with the Bournemouth Echo and then spent several years with Travel Trade Gazette and TTG International before going freelance. He was an acknowledged expert on the Asia/Pacific region, having visited virtually every country in the region.

Mike Toynbee, former editor of TTG, Executive Travel and BBT, said: “Jonathan was the consummate journalist. He was not only an outstanding, award-winning writer, but also had an encyclopaedic knowledge of the Far East and Pacific.

"He was totally professional and the perfect gentleman – we've lost a good friend and the world is a poorer place with his passing.”
