Egyptair launches Manchester-Cairo route

Egyptair has launched a new route between Manchester and Cairo.

The service - which runs five times per week on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday - is operated by a Boeing 737-800.

The five outbound flights depart Manchester at 14.30 and arrive in Cairo at 20.45. The return services depart Cairo at 08.45 and land in Manchester at 13.30.

Egyptair’s CEO Roshdy Zakaria said: “The UK is one of the most important markets in our network and the addition of this new service establishes Egyptair as the only carrier to operate direct between Manchester and Cairo.

“It offers our valued customers the advantage of being able to fly direct between Cairo and two important UK hubs, London and Manchester, with a competitive product and convenient flight timings.”

Ken O’Toole, chief commercial officer for Manchester Airports Group, added: “Cairo is a welcome addition to our global flight network as it further eliminates the need for people in the north to have to fly from London instead of closer to home, from Manchester, the north's major long-haul airport.”
