Travel technology company Sabre Corporation has launched Sabre Virtual Payments for Corporate Travel Management (CTM) Singapore to provide secured transaction channels between travellers and suppliers.

Developed in partnership with virtual card technology provider Conferma, Sabre Virtual Payments offers the ability to make secure corporate travel-related transactions, according to the company.

The solution is available through Sabre’s corporate booking tool Getthere and the new Sabre Red Workspace and provides agents and TMCs with the capacity to issue single-use virtual cards for air, hotel and agency fee payments. The cards are sent directly to the traveller’s mobile via Tripcase and are attributed to a unique transaction.

Virtual card technology creates a single form of payment that is recorded in a safe, traceable and efficient manner through a protected distribution channel, which helps ensure safe transactions and reducing the risk of third party access to sensitive details.

Sabre Virtual Payments enable agency and corporate users to choose from more than 30 banking partners and is available in Australia, Hong Kong, India, New Zealand and Singapore. Sabre says it will soon deploy the solution across the remainder of the Asia Pacific region over the coming months.

Eugene Tan, general manager of CTM Singapore, said: “In addition to supporting compliance, Sabre Virtual Payments is a tremendous asset for corporate travel management companies looking to optimise their reporting capabilities. The platform enables rich data capturing, helps to better manage revenue and facilitates compliance for all parties involved in the transaction. Thanks to Conferma and Sabre’s partnership with our service delivery team, Sabre Virtual Payments was easily integrated into our processes. In fact, we improved our booking efficiency by 30 to 40 per cent while driving revenue growth.”

Jason Toothman, VP of global accounts at Sabre Travel Network Asia Pacific, added: “Sabre Virtual Payments directly supports the public discussions that we are witnessing today around data protection. With this solution, Sabre delivers an innovative tool that addresses the need for simple, safe and reliable transactions to take place between agents, travellers and suppliers. We are pleased to have collaborated with CTM on this successful launch, which has already been able to optimise their processes and increase profitability.”
