The second annual Everywoman in Travel Awards is open for nominations until 25 June, with new categories introduced for 2018.
The awards aim to celebrate women excelling at all stages of their career journey in the travel industry and those who create role models for future female talent.
According to Everywoman, an organisation focused on the advancement of women in business, the travel and hospitality sector accounts for about 9.5 per cent of all UK employment. While women represent 67 per cent of travel employees, Everywoman says there is still under-representation of females in senior positions, with women holding less than 40 per cent of all managerial positions, less than 20 per cent of general management roles and only 15.8 per cent of all board positions.
New categories for 2018 will also recognise the achievements of men who are advancing the progress of women working in the sector, along with women who inspire their communities outside the UK.

Karen Gill MBE, co-founder of Everywoman, commented: “We launched the Everywoman in Travel Awards in 2017 to recognise the best female talent in the industry. This year, we also wanted to celebrate the work that many men are doing to encourage more gender-balanced work forces at a senior level, which is why we have introduced the Male Agent of Change award. The purpose of these awards is to recognise those whose contribution will ensure the future success of the travel industry and that women are able to participate fully to be recognised regardless of seniority or circumstance.”

Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at the East Wintergarden in London on 14 November.
