Emirates is adding a second daily A380 service on its Dubai-Birmingham route.
From October 29, flights EK39 and EK40, which currently use a B777, will be operated by the A380, adding to the existing daily A380 which is already on the route.
The 615-seat A380 will replace the smaller B777 to operate a twice-daily, all-A380 service to the Midlands.
The aircraft will have a two class configuration, with 58 flat-bed seats in business and 557 seats in economy, alongside Emirates’ onboard lounge.
Flight EK39 departs from Dubai at 0725, arriving in Birmingham at 1125. The outbound flight (EK40) departs from Birmingham at 1330, arriving in Dubai at 0035 the next day.
Emirates started flying to Birmingham on December 18, 2000 as a daily service to Dubai, originally operated by a 278-seat Airbus A330.
