Southend airport has improved its public transport links with a new late-night daily National Express coach service to London
The coach service has been launched to tie in with the existing rail timetable and will depart Southend at 23.45 and then travel to Stratford, Liverpool Street and Victoria Coach Station in London.
The return journey leaves Victoria at 03.15 and arrives back at Southend at 05.10 to coincide with early morning flights.
Glyn Jones, CEO of Southend’s owner Stobart Aviation, said: “One of the things we had been hearing from passengers arriving into Southend late at night, or planning to travel from the airport first thing in the morning, was that it was difficult for them to get to and from the airport due to the lack of public transport at those times.
“That is why we’ve worked with National Express to provide this new service."
Tickets can be bought online at nationalexpress.com or within Southend’s terminal building. They cost £10 in advance online or £12 if purchased in the terminal or on the bus.
