Accor promotes Stern to senior executive vp
Accor Hotels has appointed Jacques Stern, it chief financial officer, as a new senior executive vp of the group.
Mr Stern, who joined the Paris-based group in 1992, has been cfo since 2003.
Mr Stern has held a succession of roles for Accor whose brands include Sofitel, Novotel and Ibis.
He joined as consolidation officer and four years later became group financial planning officer.
Subsequently he has served as group controller general, executive deputy cfo, and cfo in January 2003.
Mr Stern became a member of the group's management board in 2005. The next year, he was appointed cfo, executive vp in charge of finance, purchasing and information systems and member of the executive committee.
Since September 1, 2008, he has also been in charge of group strategy and hotel business development
