CAA

Civil Aviation Authority (UK): Oversees and regulates all aspects of aviation in the UK. It was established under the Civil Aviation Act in 1972.

CAI

Compagnia Aerea Italiana: An Italian consortium which bought Alitalia in 2008. Translates as Italian Airline Company.

CBI

The Confederation of British Industry represents around 240,000 businesses that employ around a third of the private sector workforce in the UK. The CBI has offices across the UK as well as representation in Brussels, Washington, Beijing and Delhi which promote British business around the world.

CSR

Corporate Social Responsibility: A concept whereby companies and organisations form policies for the good of society. Responsibity is taken for the impact which an organisation’s activities have on, for example, customers, employees, shareholders and the environment. It also entails a duty of care towards its employees.
