LATAM Airlines Group has launched a new global brand and aircraft design for its LAN and TAM airlines.
The first flight of a LATAM-branded aircraft is due to take place today (May 1) when a one-off Boeing 767 service will fly from Rio de Janeiro to Geneva to collect the Olympic torch.
Enrique Cueto, CEO of LATAM Airlines Group, called the new brand a “historic milestone for the leading airline group in Latin America”.
“It will be a gradual change with the principal objective being to simplify and improve the travel experience for our passengers,” added Cueto.
“In the coming weeks, our passengers will start to experience LATAM, with the ability to book tickets via the LATAM website, accumulate kilometres using LATAM’s frequent flyer program, check-in at LATAM counters, relax in LATAM VIP lounges and most significantly, fly on LATAM-branded aircraft.”
The group expects that more than 50 aircraft will be rebranded before the end of this year, with the process expected to be completed in 2018.
