Global travel and event management company The Appointment Group (TAG) has announced the expansion of its senior team, including the appointment of Terry Williamson as non-executive chairman of the board.

Williamson brings more than 30 years’ experience within the travel and private equity sectors, most recently as CEO of Jactravel. Prior to this, Williamson was chief of School Travel Group and Cosmos Holidays, and was MD of UK tour operations at the Thomas Cook Group. He will now chair TAG’s board while working alongside CEO Steve Barrass, CFO Nick Stone and founder/president John Gianquitto.

Gianquitto commented: “Terry’s vast background in travel and private equity investment, along with his proven boardroom leadership experience, are a great addition to TAG. The board joins me in welcoming Terry as chairman.”

In addition, TAG has appointed Stuart Mackay as chief technology officer. Mackay has a background in business and IT transformation, having most recently held the role of IT programme director at Travis Perkins. He has also previously worked at Vodafone and Hewlett Packard.

Finally, Jennifer Pratt has been appointed chief people officer for the company. Pratt was most recently executive director of HR at Crown Agents and was previously global talent management and development director at LGC.

Steve Barras said: “We are delighted to welcome Stuart and Jennifer to TAG’s leadership team to head the vitally important areas of people engagement and technology optimisation, as we continue to truly differentiate our customer proposition. I am extremely pleased to see that the travel industry is still able to attract so many highly talented individuals and even more pleased to see them as part of TAG.”
