Amadeus boosts corporate account team
Amadeus has boosted its team dealing with corporate account management with three new appointments.
James Grant joins the GDS and travel IT company as manager for global partners with responsibility for working with clients’ sales and marketing teams to drive implementation and adoption of the technology.
He joins from travel management company HRG where he was director of integration services.
Marc Wise switches from Worldspan to become Amadeus’s new manager national sales (corporate) for the UK.
Mr Wise’s post at Worldspan was as for selling and implementing products from its Intellect Suite.
The third new member is Gregor Flack who becomes regional partner manager (UK and Ireland).
Mr Flack has worked for Amadeus in South Africa since 2001 as its executive manager business development.
Heaps joins Airport Express
Beverly Heaps, formerly with United Airlines, has joined Airport express as its business development manager.
Ms Heaps worked at United since 1991 and most recently was responsible for larger TMCS and their corporate clients.
Isaac moves on at Amadeus
Marcos Isaac has left his job as director corporate and distribution channels for Amadeus in Madrid after five years in the post.
He has taken up a new role with the Global Distribution System - a major electronic worldwide reservation system used by travel agents to book flights, hotels, car rental and other travel services. The major players in this area are Sab... and travel IT company as director travel services and leisure group.
His former role will be taken over by Frank Palapies in his position as head of global account management and sales.
Business Travel Direct appoints Pollard
UK independent travel management company Business Travel Direct has appointed Wayne Pollard as its new director of sales.
Mr Pollard joins the company from Travelocity Business where he was business development manager Europe.
He has also worked for Fleet Street Travel and Eton Travel.
FCm makes new China appointment
FCm Travel Solutions ahs appointed Paul Ford as its new general manager product and IT for Greater China.
He will be responsible for the travel management company’s product and IT strategy in the region as well as developing relationships with suppliers.
Mr Ford who will be based in Hong Kong joins from Bridge The World Travel Service where he was Asia and Middle East product development manager.
Radius adds to sales team
Radius Travel, a global travel consortium, has appointed Edyta Citron as its new director multi-national corporate sales North America.
Ms Citron will be based at the group’s heads office in Washington DC.
She has a background in GDSs and travel technology having worked for four years in the UK and the US for Worldspan and Travelport and before that for Baltona Foreign Trade Company in Poland.
Robin Smith to retire from BCD
Robin Smith, a 20 year veteran of the travel industry, is to retire from its post as managing director of BCD Meetings and Incentive UK and Ireland at the end of June.
Mr Smith was a founder of Talking Point, the meeting and events agency which BCD acquired in 2006.
Mr Smith’s departure will see an alignment of BCD’s M &I operation under one EMEA team with Shaun Casey adding the UK and Ireland role to his responsibilities as managing director BCD M&I Europe, Middle East and Africa.
BookOTel appoints new head of groups
BookOTel, a UK travel and event management company, has appointed Victoria Jenkins-Leigh as its new head of groups and event management.
Ms Jenkins-Leigh joins from TMC Reed and Mackay. She has also worked for Eclipse Conference Management and Gray Dawes Travel.
