International TMC Reed & Mackay has acquired Australian company Concierge Travel Group.
The Sydney-based firm was founded in 1979 and offers travel management services for both corporate and leisure customers. It currently employs 45 people.
This latest acquisition extends Reed & Mackay’s footprint across the Asia Pacific region following its launch in Singapore in May 2018. The TMC has been focusing on a global growth strategy in recent years with the aim of introducing its service and global technology into key markets for its client base.
The purchase follows Reed & Mackay’s May 2018 acquisition of Hillgate Travel and the November 2017 buy-out of French firm Frequent Flyer Travel Paris. The TMC also acquired Gray’s Travel Management in January 2017 after being sold to private equity firm Inflexion in 2016.
David Greenland, MD of Concierge Travel Group, and general manager Jamie Strickland will form part of the management team in Australia and will continue to lead the business.
Fred Stratford, Reed & Mackay’s group CEO, said: “Australia is an important strategic market for our business with many clients operating in the APAC region. Concierge Travel Group are known for delivering service of the highest quality and I look forward to working closely with David Greenland and his team to deliver a unique proposition to the market.
“We’re on a very exciting journey that not only delivers on client need, but also creates fantastic opportunity for our people across the globe. I’m thrilled to welcome Concierge Travel Group into the Reed & Mackay family and look forward to working closely together to deliver extended reach, extraordinary service and world-class technology to our growing client base.”
Greenland added: “We share the same commitment to outstanding service and we’re really delighted about the extended global reach and leading technology that joining together will bring to our clients. Reed & Mackay’s online and mobile booking tools are second to none and present the Australian market with real alternatives – it’s very exciting.”
