Travelport and InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) have announced a new long-term full content and technology services agreement.
The deal guarantees Travelport-connected subscribers throughout the world instant access to complete rates from IHG’s more than 4,500 properties worldwide.
IHG will facilitate the deal by signing up for Travelport’s Best Available Rate program, putting its best available published non-restricted rates onto the Galileo, Worldspan and Apollo GDSs.
Galileo and Apollo agents will benefit from IHG’s decision to implement the enhanced data response module of Complete Pricing Plus. It is hoped that this will help agents offer better deals and service to clients by receiving better information direct from IHG, with the GDS as the switch between the agent and hotel chain.
Finally, IHG is expanding on its current relationship with Worldspan by adding Travelport XML Pro Technology Solution to all three Travelport GDSs. This should lead to “improved shopping experience and response times.” IHG has had an XML connection with Worldpsan sin ce 2008, which led to “greater transaction efficiency, speed and accuracy.”
The new XML solution is written in Online Travel Alliance standards.
