Canadian airline Air Transat has joined the Worldwide by Easyjet connections service to allow European passengers to book onward travel from Gatwick airport.
Travellers who book through the Worldwide by Easyjet platform will be able to choose a range of flights to Canada from Gatwick.
An additional agreement with Gatwickconnects will allow Air Transat passengers to book connecting flights with airlines that don’t share an interline agreement. The service also includes a counter in the baggage reclaim area at Gatwick where passengers can re-check their bags and get their boarding passes for the next flight.
Air Transat has also relocated to a new dedicated area of Gatwick’s North Terminal to enable smoother connections with Easyjet services.
Annick Guerard, COO of Air Transat, said: “London Gatwick has been a European mainstay for Air Transat for 30 years, with daily direct flights to Toronto as well as departures to major Canadian cities such as Vancouver, Calgary and Montreal. Moreover, it serves as one of Easyjet’s main airports.”
Johan Lundgren, CEO of Easyjet, added: “We are really pleased to welcome Air Transat to Worldwide by Easyjet and are confident their addition to Worldwide will be very popular with our customers.”
