BA confirms launch of Nashville route

British Airways has confirmed that it will start a new route to Nashville in Tennessee next year.

The route from Heathrow to Nashville, known as Music City, will begin on May 4, 2018 and operate five times per week.

Sean Doyle, British Airways’ director of network and alliances, said: “We are incredibly excited to be adding Nashville to our extensive global network, making us the only carrier flying non-stop between Europe and Tennessee.

“It is a dynamic city with one of the fastest growing economies in the US, so we are confident this route will be a big hit with British tourists as well as business travellers in the UK and US.”

The new Heathrow-Nashville service will be operated using Boeing 787-8 aircraft and will be the first ever route between the two airports. Flights will operate on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

BA is also to increase frequencies from Heathrow to Philadelphia and Phoenix from daily services to 10 flights per week, as well as introducing the A380 superjumbo on one of its two daily flights to Chicago.
