Travel search platform Skyscanner and aviation technology provider Variflight have announced a partnership to provide real-time notifications of flight status changes on Skyscanner’s mobile app.
The feature, which is powered by Variflight’s flight status API, is available to Skyscanner’s iOS and Android app users. It sends instant notifications of any status changes – including check-in counters, gates and estimated take-off/landing times) when they have added a flight to their trip in the app.
In addition to the flight status API, Variflight has also developed the Flight Happiness Index to help airlines improve air shopping satisfaction and online booking conversion rates.
Variflight says it covers 94 per cent of the world’s commercial flights.
Zheng Hongfeng, founder and CEO of Variflight, commented: “We are delighted to be chosen by Skyscanner as their flight status information supplier. We will continue to develop data-driven services for our worldwide partners with the hope that more people can enjoy an efficient air travel experience.”
