New research reveals that corporate travel managers take ABTA membership into consideration when looking for a new TMC.

The survey of 508 travel managers ahead of the Business Travel Show on 21-22 February found that four in five (84 per cent) say membership of ABTA is important or very important when selecting a TMC. This is up from 82 per cent in 2017 and ten percentage points higher than the 74 per cent of the general public who believe ABTA membership is essential or important when booking a holiday.

Managers at companies with an annual turnover of £50 million to £100 million are more likely to look for TMCs with ABTA membership (91 per cent), while smaller companies with 50-99 employees also valued membership (92 per cent).

ABTA says 37 of the 50 largest TMCs are ABTA members, while another 182 members count business travel as their primary business.
