Scandinavian airline SAS has announced it will launch direct flights between Cornwall’s Newquay airport and Copenhagen on 28 June 2019.
The twice-weekly service is the first directly connecting Cornwall with Scandinavia. It will operate on Mondays and Fridays, departing Newquay at 1900.
SAS will use the 90-seat CRJ 900 jet to operate the flights and says the service will allow passengers from Cornwall to connect to more than 70 onward destinations in Europe, Asia and North America through Copenhagen.
Al Titterington, MD of Cornwall Airport Newquay, commented: “This is brilliant news not just for the airport, but the local region of Cornwall and beyond. Adding to our confirmed direct European services to Alicante, Cork, Dublin, Dusseldorf, Faro and Stuttgart next summer, we’re sure that Copenhagen will prove just as popular.”
