Booking Holdings, parent company of Booking.com, has signed an agreement to acquire hotel Australian metasearch site Hotelscombined.
Founded in 2005, the site has a presence in the Asia-Pacific region, with thousands of active affiliates worldwide. It also operates a site for UK bookers.
Booking Holdings says Hotelscombined will report into its travel metasearch brand Kayak. The sale is expected to close later this year, subject to regulatory approval.
In addition to Booking.com and Kayak, the group owns Priceline, Agoda, Opentable and Rentalcars.com.
Glenn Fogel, CEO of Booking Holdings, commented: “Hotelscombined has built a strong brand with loyal customers across APAC, and we believe the team will be a great addition to Kayak to further expand our worldwide metasearch strategy.”
Hichame Assi, CEO of Hotelscombined, said: “We’ve always been inspired by the entrepreneurial culture of Booking Holdings brands and are excited to be joining the family. Operating under the Kayak umbrella will strengthen our proposition to both customers and partners with greater scale, product breadth and innovation.”
