Heathrow, Luton, Manchester and Stansted airports all reported a significant rise in passenger traffic for July.
Manchester saw a 6.1 per cent year-on-year increase in passengers flying in July, the most ever in the airport’s 77 year history.
Scheduled international flights were up 8.7 per cent on the same period last year and charter traffic was also up by 3% compared to the same period last year.
Luton recorded a 16 per cent increase in passenger numbers last month, as 1.3 million people passed through the airport. This marked 16 months of consecutive growth.
Stansted airport saw 2.19 million passengers pass through the airport in July. This is a rise of 16.5 per cent over the previous 12 months with an increase of more than 240,000 passengers. It was the airport’s busiest July since 2008.
Heathrow saw 7.29 million passengers pass through the airport, an increase of 4.7 per cent on the same period last year.
