Kenya Airways has launched a non-stop flight from Nairobi to New York, which is set to begin on 28 October.
The airline claims to be the first to offer direct services from East Africa to the US. The 15-hour flight will operate onboard a B787 Dreamliner, with 234 seats. It will depart Jomo Kenyatta airport at 23:25, arriving at JFK airport at 06:25 the following morning, with return flights departing New York at 12:25 and landing in Nairobi at 10:55 the next day.
Kenya Airways operates a further 40 routes within Africa from Nairobi. The airline says it hopes the new route to the US will stimulate trade between the two nations.
