Jaguar Land Rover has invested $25 million in Uber rival Lyft.
The British car manufacturer will support Lyft’s expansion and technology plans and provide it the opportunity to develop and test autonomous vehicles.
It will also supply Lyft drivers with a fleet of Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles.
The funding comes through Jaguar Land Rover’s InMotion Ventures arm, a division set up last year to invest in new transport technologies.
The investment follows similar deals by lyft with other firms including Waymo and Japanese driverless-vehicle firm Nutonomy.
A recent study showed Uber and Lyft now account for over half of the US ground transportation category.
