Flybe franchise partner Eastern Airways will add new Sunday flights between Aberdeen and Wick John O’Groats airport from 11 March.

The service is announced just a week after Flybe said it would cease its Glasgow-Stornoway and Aberdeen-Kirkwall flights, which were operated by Eastern Airways.

Sunday services to Wick John O’Groats will depart Aberdeen at 1705 and land at 1740, while the return flight leaves at 1805 and arriving at 1840.

Eastern Airways began operating the route in 2001 and now provides 22 flights a week.

Eastern Airways entered into a partnership with Flybe in October 2017, with the Scottish carrier providing four aircraft to operate Flybe routes. Eastern Airways flights are now sold through Flybe’s website.

Mathew Herzberg, head of commercial at Eastern Airways, said: “Sunday flights benefit business travellers who can now reach Wick and Aberdeen in advance for early Monday morning meetings.”
