All Nippon Airways (ANA) has announced it is rolling out changes to the ANA Mileage Club that will allow members to redeem upgrade points and miles in Premium Economy.

From 1 April 2019, ANA Mileage Club members will be able to reserve seats in the Premium Economy cabin with award tickets.

Furthermore, members can upgrade from Economy to Premium Economy using ANA mileage and upgrade points from 1 April 2020.

Members are currently only able to redeem award tickets and miles to fly in First, Business and Economy classes, and only upgrades to First and Business class are available.

ANA says it is now offering Premium Economy on 59 aircraft flying 30 routes and has seen an increase in demand from Mileage Club members to upgrade to Premium Economy.

Takeshi Inada, CEO and president of ANA X Inc, said: “ANA believes that travelling should always be a pleasant experience, which is why we’ve sought to expand seating options to give passengers the greatest possible array of choices. Our vision for air travel revolves around consumer satisfaction, and we aim to continue taking steps to make flying with ANA as effortless as possible.”
