Cullen moves to Capita

Paula Cullen has joined Capita Business Travel, one of the UK’s largest independent TMCS, as its director of sales.

Ms Cullen joins from Thetrainline, the online rail booking engine, where she was responsible for business development.

Previously she has also worked for TQ3 (now taken over by BCD Travel) and BTI UK (now HRG).

At Capita, she will be in charge of the agency’s sales strategy including both managed travel and the Railooto corporate rail product.

Brussels Airlines appoints Bean

Brussels Airlines has appointed Simon Bean as its new country manager for the UK.

HE joins the airline after a spell as a freelance consultant.

Previously Mr Bean has worked as marketing manager for South West Trains in the UK and ten years with Air New Zealand, including three as regional manager Europe.

He replaces Francisco Atienza who has joined airline provider ADP.

SAS nominates new chairman

Fritz Schur will be nominated as the new chairman of the SAS Group at its annual meeting in April.

He will take over from the current chairman Egil Myklebust who plans to step down.

The company has also proposed Dag Mejdell, ceo of Posten Norge, as a new board member.

Mr Schur, a 56-year-old Dane, has been a member of the SAS board since 2001 and has also served as chairman of several major companies.

His family own the Fritz Schur Groupen and he is also currently chairman of Post Danmark, DONG Energy and F. Uhrenholt Holding.

Mr Mejdell, a 50-year-old Norwegian, has been ceo of Post Norge since 2006. He previously held a similar position with Dyno Industrier and Dyno Nobel.

Golden Tulip appoints new vps

The golden Tulip Group has appointed two new vice presidents.

Alfred de Bruyn becomes its new vp brands and concepts while David Cruz is the new vp human resources.

Both will join the board of directors.

Mr de Bruyn, a Dutchman, joins the hotel chain after working 15 years in design. He also owned and managed the Golden Tulip Avegoor Hotel.

Mr Cruz, who is Swiss, was previously for nearly ten years the regional human resources manager NEAME for Cereal Partners Worldwide.

He has also worked for Hyatt International.
