Garuda Indonesia will launch its new Jakarta-Amsterdam-Gatwick service next month.
The Skyteam member will operate a B777-300ER in a three-class configuration from September 8 — with eight seats in first class, 38 in business and 268 in economy — on the five-times weekly route.
Garuda abandoned plans to fly non-stop between Jakarta and Gatwick earlier this year after failing to obtain slots at the airport during the summer.
The new service will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
The outbound flight will depart Gatwick at 13.10, arriving at Schiphol at 15.15, before taking off again at 17.00 and arriving in Jakarta at 11.40 the next day, where it will connect with Garuda’s onward services to Australia.
The return flight will depart Jakarta at 00.40, arriving in Amsterdam at 09.40, before taking off at 11.55 to arrive at Gatwick at 12.00.
Garuda CEO Emirsyah Satar said: “The opening of the London to Jakarta service will support economic activities between Indonesia and the UK, in light of the growing trade transaction between the countries each year.”
