Qatar Airways will increase frequency on its Edinburgh-Doha route from five-times weekly to daily from next spring.

The Gulf carrier, which uses a Dreamliner 787 on the route, only began operating to the Scottish capital earlier this year.

Qatar’s flights currently operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sunday, with the service becoming daily from May 5, 2015.

Flight QR027 departs Doha at 07.45 and arrives in Edinburgh at 13.00 local time. Return service QR028 leaves Edinburgh at 14.30 and lands in Doha at 23.30 local time.

Qatar Airways’ B787 is in a two-cabin configuration, with 22 seats in business class and 232 in economy.

Last month, the airline cancelled its planned second daily A380 service to Heathrow, which had been scheduled to begin on December 1. Qatar’s first superjumbo began flying on the Heathrow-Doha route in October.
