Bombardier has signed a letter of intent for up to 24 CS300 aircraft with Egyptair, which includes an initial 12 planes and purchasing rights for another 12.

The firm says the deal could be worth up to US$2.2 billion at list price if Egyptair orders all 24 aircraft.

Egyptair CEO Safwat Musallam said during a press conference at the Dubai Airshow that the order is part of the airline’s fleet modernisation strategy. “We selected the C Series aircraft because its excellent range will allow us to best serve domestic and regional destinations, including neighbouring Arab cities and the Middle East, as well as several European destinations.”
