Travelport partners with Co-op Travel Management

Travelport and the Midcounties Co-operative Travel (Co-op Travel Management) have signed their first multi-year technology agreement.

Under the partnership, Co-op Travel Management will have connect to Travelport’s technology offering, including its point-of-sale solutions Travelport Smartpoint and Travelport Hotelzon.

Co-operative says the agreement forms part of its plan to extend its capabilities into the TMC sector under the Co-op Travel Management division.

Travelport’s technology will provide the TMC’s agents with real-time access to content from more than 400 airlines, more than 400,000 hotel properties and 35,000 car rental locations. The company will use Hotelzon for all of its property bookings, reservation management and travel policy implementations, which will provide clients with special negotiated rates, as well as reporting and data integration with back-office systems.

The same applies to air bookings, with Travelport currently being the only GDS provider certified as a ‘Level 3’ aggregator under IATA’s NDC initiative.
