The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) and the Institute of Travel Management (ITM) announced a long-term joint venture at the GBTA Convention in San Diego, with the two organisations working together on an event in London next year.
The event for the managed travel and meetings sector will focus on Strategic Meetings Management and will be held at the Royal Horseguards Hotel on 31 January. The ITM and GBTA, as well as the GBTA’s wider European partner network, will deliver the event together.
Announcing the joint venture to the Convention’s nearly 7,000 attendees, GBTA president Christle Johnson said: “GBTA is focused on supporting our one global community by continuing to deliver industry-leading events in conjunction with our valued partners. We are so pleased to work with ITM to expand our respective communities and add values to our collective global membership base.”
Karen Hutchings, chair of the ITM, added: “ITM is the market leader in the UK and Ireland and has built a strong reputation in the industry for excellence. The expansion of our relationship with GBTA will allow us to further leverage our respective assets and deliver world-class events and education for years to come.”
The GBTA said the extended partnership with the ITM is an important step “to meet the needs of our collective memberships in a post-Brexit world”.
