Low-cost carrier Wizz Air has announced it will launch a direct flight between Luton airport and Stavanger in Norway from September.
The service will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. It adds to Wizz Air’s two other Norwegian destinations, including Bergen and Oslo.
Wizz Air now offers five Nordic routes from Luton, including the Norway flights, Turku in Finland and Billund in Denmark.
The airline offers 61 routes from its Luton base and is set to become the largest carrier at the airport by the end of 2019, though it reported a huge 88 per cent slump in profits for the three months to 31 December in 2018.
Owain Jones, MD of Wizz Air’s UK subsidiary, said: “Wizz Air is committed to offering the lowest airfares in the UK market, and I am delighted that customers will now have the opportunity to travel with us to beautiful Stavanger.”
