Hilton is to open a new hotel in Dubai complete with rainforest, rooftop aquarium and infinity sky pool with glass bottom.
The five-star 450-room and 280-serviced apartment property will be developed on Dubai’s Sheikh Zayed Road and housed in a “podium”, which features a mix of exotic plants, mist sprays, artificial beach – this indoor rainforest will be a world first.
The hotel, due to open in 2018, will be part of Hilton’s Curio collection, which consists of upscale and luxury properties that have been chosen for their “unique character and personality”.
The property will also provide extensive MICE facilities with four meeting rooms, two boardrooms, one multi-functional space that can host conferences and events. It also includes three restaurants, a lobby café and two bars.
“Dubai’s vibrant hospitality sector continues to grow at an impressive pace, firmly earning its position as a highly desirable destination for global travellers,” said Rudi Jagersbacher, president, Middle East and Africa for Hilton Worldwide.
“We continue to see huge potential in the market, and to add a Curio property to our portfolio of 35 hotels either trading or under development in the UAE is our global recognition of the Emirates’ unique ability to further build a compelling and cultured offering to attract visitors from around the world.”
The hotel and apartment towers were designed by ZAS Architects, which has offices in Canada and the United Arab Emirates.
