Hilton is to increase its presence in New York by taking over management of the One UN Hotel located next to the iconic United Nations building.
The property on Manhattan’s East Side waterfront is to be rebranded as the Millennium Hilton New York One UN Plaza on August 30 following a US$68 million renovation.
The 439-room will become the seventh Hilton-branded hotel in Manhattan. The property will also feature a Skyline Club executive lounge on the 30th floor.
“The landmark hotel, situated alongside the United Nations headquarters, has long welcomed both leisure and business travellers, and the world’s most esteemed leaders, diplomats and heads of state,” said Hilton in a statement.
“The iconic property is now poised to deliver Hilton’s flagship hospitality to visitors from across the globe.”
The hotel will be owned by Millennium and managed by Hilton.
