British Airways reveals upgrades to premium economy

British Airways World Traveller Plus

BA has announced plans to upgrade its World Traveller Plus premium economy cabin as part of its ongoing £6.5 billion investment in services.

The airline will introduce new menus from February 1 including a third main meal option plus a “more substantial” second hot meal later in the flight.

This will be followed in the spring by new amenity kits, quilts and pillows in the World Traveller Plus cabin.

Carolina Martinoli, BA’s director of brand and customer experience, said: “This latest tranche of our £6.5 billion investment is set to improve World Traveller Plus and customers will see a real change to the cabin.”

Last year BA unveiled a new World Traveller Plus seat at Gatwick featuring a 50 per cent larger entertainment screen, as well as a six-way adjustable leg, foot and headrest. The seat will be installed on the airline’s A350 aircraft, when it comes into service later this year.

World Traveller Plus customers can pre-order their main meal up to 24 hours before departure through BA's website.

Ten years ago a new WT+ seat was launched to great fanfare, it's *still* not available on many routes. IN 2019, the BA service is degraded, uncompetitive and dirty (because cleaning cabins costs money and £1.7BILLION profit doesn't come from nowhere). No doubt some routes inc LHR>JFK will receive this change on the dates stated, bringing them close to the service offered by; Lufthansa, Singapore or Virgin but the reality is this is another example of BA bait and switch... Announce and promote one product and deliver another from another era. Let's not begin to start with BA's version of "customer service".
Simply if you want; comfort, service or value #flyABBA

I fly London - NYC regularly in world traveller plus and maybe 30-40% of the time get a seat with a TV the same size as my phone. Some of the cabins look like they're from the 90s. It's so hit and miss.
