Emirates has launched its Android app enabling passengers to book flights and manage bookings on the global mobile platform.
It follows the release of the airline’s Apple Watch and iPhone apps.
The Android app has a variety of features including enabling users to book flights, review travel itineraries, seat selection, access to boarding passes, updates on gate changes and managing Skywards accounts.
“Our passengers are mobile and increasingly reliant on mobile devices to stay connected, no matter where they are in the world,” said Alex Knigge, Emirates’ senior VP of Digital. “We believe the right mobile technology can significantly improve our customers’ experience.
“As a result, Emirates’ mobile strategy is aggressive and a key element of our digital roadmap. We aim to be trail blazers in the airline industry when it comes to mobile technologies.”
During the development of the Android app, Emirates conducted testing with employees and Skywards members. Feedback from these users was used to “fine tune” the overall experience.
Last week, Emirates and Heathrow agreed a partnership that allows members of their loyalty programmes to reciprocally earn and redeem miles and points.
