The Federation of Risk Management (FERMA), the International SOS Foundation and KPMG have launched a paper providing insight and practical advice for companies on managing the risk associated with business travel.
A survey conducted for the Workers on the move: managing new risks report reveals that 60 per cent of European risk managers feel their responsibilities in regards to health, safety and security have increased. 66 per cent feel their contribution to their organisations risk management policy and decision process has grown in the face of changing travel threats.
Other key insights revealed in the report include:
- 41 per cent of risk managers say geopolitical climate plays a large part in the complexity of their tasks, while 39 per cent say globalisation of their organisation’s activity does the same.
- Cyber security is considered the biggest risk for mobile workers (68 per cent), followed by mental health (45 per cent) and social media (33 per cent).
- 67 per cent of organisations believe their exposure to health, safety and security risks linked to workers’ mobility has increased over the last two years.
The paper outlines tips and advice for organisations with regards to risk management, as well as innovative solutions that can make managers’ jobs easier.
