Italian carrier Alitalia has signed an expanded codeshare agreement with regional airline Flybe to increase travel options between the UK and Italy.
The codeshare will allow Alitalia to offer a wider range of destinations in the UK and also allows Flybe customers easier access to Alitalia’s network.
Alitalia’s code has been placed on Flybe’s flights between Milan Malpensa and Birmingham, Cardiff, Manchester and Southampton airports.
There is also a codeshare on Flybe’s services from Heathrow and London City to Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Exeter and Belfast City.
Alitalia flies to London from both Rome Fiumicino and Milan Linate airports.
The codeshre also applies to Flybe services from Doncaster Sheffield to Amsterdam, Paris Charles de Gaulle and Berlin Tegel, as well as East Midlands to Amsterdam.
“Thanks to the codeshare agreement, customers can fly seamlessly to their desired destination with a single ‘unique’ ticket, checking-in at the airport of departure, and collecting their checked-through baggage at the end of their trip in the arrival airport,” said an Alitalia spokesperson.
