Following its announcement that Shai Weiss will take up the position of CEO when Craig Kreeger retires, Virgin Atlantic has made two new senior appointments.
From January, Juha Jarvinen will take up the role of EVP of commercial and Ash Jokhoo will become SVP of technology from February.
Jarvinen joins from Finnair, where he is currently CCO. He brings 20 years’ aviation experience and will be responsible for the airline’s network, revenue and loyalty programme. He will also work closely with transatlantic joint venture partner Delta Air Lines.
Jokhoo will join from Centrica, where he is currently CIO for British Gas. He will lead the airline’s technology transformation, including the delivery of services via the website, mobile app and at airports.
Current SVP of technology Don Langford will retire at the end of the year.
Shai Weiss, currently EVP of commercial and CCO, will be promoted to CEO in January after Craig Kreeger retires.
Weiss commented: “I’m thrilled to welcome two such proven leaders to our team; with these additions we are ready to take Virgin Atlantic forwards in 2019 and beyond. Juha and Ask both bring deep industry knowledge and expertise in their specific fields, as well as a strong track record of amazing people leadership. I know they’ll bring the commitment and passion that makes Virgin Atlantic such a special airline for our customers to fly with and our people to work at.”
