Self-proclaimed “agile travel management” company has appointed ten-year Kayak veteran Tim Knowling as its VP of partnerships.

During his time at Kayak, which was bought by Priceline in 2012, Knowling directed business development and supplier relations as the company grew, adding partners worldwide and launching an app.

Knowling has more than 17 years’ experience in driving new business and partnerships on global and regional levels for dot-com start-ups, multi-national corporations and consulting firms. He began his career at American Airlines, where he spent six years as an analyst. He then joined consulting firm AT Kearney, focusing on the transportation and energy sectors, before joining Kayak, where he was most recently senior vice president of strategic partnerships.

He will be based in New York City.

Commenting on Knowling’s appointment, senior vice president of business development Krista Pappas said: “ just gained one more piston in its engine with landing rock star Tim Knowling to the business development team. I have known Tim for the past ten years and I can attest to his role in contributing to the success at Kayak. We are eager to leverage Tim’s experience during this exciting and transformative time at Lola. He will be a great contributor to helping us execute on key growth strategies.”

Knowling added: “The market potential for to meet the needs of simplifying business travel worldwide is tremendous. I expect to focus on cultivating multi-year relationships and negotiating large-scale partner agreements, taking to the next level in penetrating the market.”
