LOT Polish Airlines will launch direct flights between London City airport and Budapest from 18 February, 2019.
The service will operate twice a day Monday to Friday and once a day on Saturdays and Sundays on board LOT’s new Embraer 190, with tickets on sale now.
Flights will depart Budapest at 0700 daily except Sundays, landing in London City at 0845 local time and returning at 0915 with a 1245 landing time in Budapest. The second flight leaves Budapest at 17.15 daily except Saturdays, arriving in London at 1900 local time. Return flights leave London at 1930 and arrive in Budapest at 2300.
LOT says the schedule allows those travelling to London from Budapest for business to take a round trip without an overnight stay.
The new route follows success on LOT’s long-haul services from Hungary, including New York City, Chicago and Cracow. The carrier will also launch flights between London City and Warsaw in 2019.
Rafal Milczarski, CEO of LOT Polish Airlines, said: “The annual passenger traffic on the Budapest-London route is approximately 1.4 million. London City airport is the most conveniently located airport for those passengers who want to reach London’s business district in the shortest and most convenient way. I am certain that Hungarian passengers will appreciate the new connection thanks to the elevated quality of services.”
