Global travel risk consultancy Drum Cussac has released a new white paper featuring a safety guide that provides advice for LGBT, female and disabled business travellers.
Drum Cussac says globalisation has made business travel a regular occurrence for many organisations, but vulnerable groups of travellers – such as women, LGBT and disabled employees – still face cultural, legal and infrastructural challenges.
Recent studies have shown that more than a third of both female and LGBT travellers have experienced abuse while on business trips.
Drum Cussac’s new guide provides employers with advice on both pre-travel and in-country safety, what vulnerable travellers should bring with them in case of an emergency, security tips to minimise risk and ensure wellbeing, case studies of travellers in Egypt and Turkey, and a list of traveller resources.
Contributors to the white paper include Carolyn Pearson, CEO of Maiden Voyage, and Rob Crossan, disabled travel journalist, among others.
