Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts will work with Jabal Omar Development Company to open a new hotel in Makkah (also known as Mecca) in Saudi Arabia.

The property will be located opposite the city’s Grand Mosque and is the brand’s second hotel in Saudi Arabia, joining an existing Four Seasons in Riyadh.

Four Seasons has appointed architectural firm Foster + Partners to head up the project following an international design competition. When completed, the hotel will feature 375 guest rooms and suites, as well as approximately 90 Four Seasons Private Residences. It will also offer three restaurants and lounges, a ballroom and meeting spaces, as well as a spa and fitness centre.
