NH Hotel Group has appointed Ramon Aragonés as the company’s new CEO.
He replaces Federico J. Gonzales Tejera who was ousted last year over a potential conflict of interest.
Aragonés has spent the majority of his career in the hotel industry and last year he assumed the role of group executive director of business and operations.
Prior to joining the group, he worked as general manager and director of operations at Hesperia hotel chain. Before that he was a hotel manager in Spain, Belgium and Venezuela for ten years, as well as commercial director at Stab Hotel.
In addition to overseeing operations across the Company’s nearly 400 hotels, he has executed the portfolio repositioning plan, rolled out the new sales and revenue management strategy and continued with the expansion strategy under way in Europe and the Americas, among other initiatives.
“NH Hotel Group is embarking on a new phase of its business plan, a plan I embrace with a sense of determination and responsibility, fully committing to the Company, its shareholders and its employees,” said Aragonés. “My priority, and that of all our teams, during this new phase is to consolidate the Group’s transformation project with the objective of maximising value creation for our shareholders and other stakeholders.”
