Hotel chain Travelodge has opened its first property in East Grinstead and says it is looking for eight further sites across West Sussex.
Located on Little King Street, the hotel features a selection of double, family and accessible rooms, each fitted with a king-size Travelodge Dreamer bed. Rooms also offer bedside charging points, LED lighting, a ‘comfort cooling’ system, 32-inch Freeview television, wifi and in-room tea and coffee-making facilities.
The property is one of 20 Travelodge expects to open this year.
Travelodge says it is targeting other areas of West Sussex to build hotels, including Brighton, Bognor, Burgess Hill, Chichester, Hastings, Haywards Heath, Hove and Shoreham-by-the-Sea.
Tony O’Brien, UK development director at Travelodge, said: “As we look to the future, West Sussex is a target growth area for Travelodge. The local community is growing at pace and with increasing visitor numbers to the area, there is still a shortage of good-quality accommodation at a great value price.
“Collectively this expansion programme would represent an estimated investment of approximately £65 million for third-party investors and create around 160 new jobs.”
