Aer Lingus is now allowing members of its AerClub loyalty programme to use Avios points towards the cost of their flights when booking through the airline’s website and mobile app.

AerClub members can collect Avios each time they fly, with partners such as SuperValu, Kildare Village and Aer Credit Card in partnership with Bank of Ireland, as well as via the AerClub eStore.

The ‘Pay with Avios’ functionality has been integrated into the booking process on the Aer Lingus website and via its app. When guests log in to book a flight, they will be offered money-off options calculated by their Avios balance. Aer Lingus says this will reduce the total basket cost, which includes the price of all flights and any related ancillaries such as priority boarding, checked baggage, or seat selection.

Susanne Carberry, director of network revenue and loyalty at Aer Lingus, said: “Pay with Avios is a significant benefit for our AerClub members, who can now avail of tangible rewards for their loyalty… it’s a very simple benefit and the next natural evolution of the AerClub offering.”
