The two main drivers of Project Phoenix, a crisis management service to support travel professionals in  emergencies, won the major prize at the Business Travel Awards this week.

Jamies Hindhaugh, the immediate past chairman of ITM, and Ken McLeod, corporate director of Advantage, scooped the David Brown Outstanding Achievement Award at the business travel industry’s premier awards ceremony.

More than 1,200 industry executives attended the prestigious event  at Grosvenor House, a JW Marriott hotel in London.

The evening was hosted by TV comedian and actor Chris Addison and the guests entertained by the 200-strong Rock Choir.

It was the 17th year of the awards and among the 22 winners were British Airways, Lufthansa, Rezidor  and Eurostar.

The threecourse dinner and awards ceremony were followed by the now legendary party and casino.

The event raised more than £10,000 for the Leonard Cheshire charity.

The judges, comprising leading travel buyers and industry experts, made their final selection from a shortlist of 85, taking into account case studies, submissions and testimonials from clients.

A full list of winners is below.

The event was organised by Panacea Publishing International, publisher of Buying Business Travel, Business Traveller and ABTN.

The Business Travel Awards combine both the long-standing Business Travel World Awards and the prestigious Buying Business Travel Diamond Awards.
